English Heritage Brand Refresh: Website & Social
Branding | Social | Web Design
The brief
Following a recent brand refresh, English Heritage needed to roll out the new visual identity across social media and the website in a cohesive, engaging way.
With limited budget and resource for the website redesign, I needed to think strategically to redesign key pages (the homepage and membership pages) in a way that could be adapted across further pages in the future. Improving accessibility and user experience were also key objectives.
Social media templates needed to facilitate the Social and Content teams to produce high quality, on-brand graphics quickly and easily, prioritising colour combinations that met recommended contrast ratios for accessibility.
My approach
I designed social media templates in Adobe Illustrator, creating dynamic, eye-catching layouts. I provided these templates in a user-friendly format that supported the Content and Social teams in selecting colour pairings that met colour contrast ratio recommendations for accessibility.
When designing key pages of the website I focused on creating versatile components that could be reused for various types of content later on when applying the redesign across further pages of the website. This not only supported in keeping budgets down by preventing the need to outsource development support, but ensures a consistent and intuitive user experience.
The result
I helped English Heritage build a digital presence that is not only consistent and engaging, but easy to maintain and adapt over time. Templates empowered teams to produce cohesive on-brand content with ease, saving time and resulting in better quality output. Ultimately, the work also helps audiences experience the brand in a cohesive way across digital touchpoints, inspiring confidence and trust.
